Information Questions

To form information questions, always start your sentence with a question word: who, what, why, when, where or how (much, many, far, …). Information questions have the same word order as yes/no questions. In simple tenses, add the auxiliary do before the subject except with the verb be, which is simply placed before the subject. When the verb phrase has an auxiliary and a main verb, only the auxiliary is conjugated; the main verb stays in the base form.
