This module helps you to explain itineraries and give directions in a multitude of contexts. The reading activity looks into our reliance on GPS and applications to find our way around. Practise reading comprehension strategies and skills and take a note of any words and expressions you are unfamiliar with. Three listening comprehension activities provide examples on how to give directions to people travelling by car or public transit, or to people trying to find their way around inside a building. As you practise your listening comprehension skills, take a note of any words and expressions you are unfamiliar with; most of them are transferable from one context to another. The grammar component of this module reviews prepositions of place and movement. Mastering these prepositions is essential to give precise and correct directions and to clearly situate people and objects in your work environment. Finally, you will review and practise words, expressions and prepositions that are typically used when giving someone directions.
